Just because you have the WHAT, WHO and WHERE doesnt mean you could loosen up. You can fail to notice the necessary details if you go ahead with the fun part. You have to manage a few particulars prior to benefiting from your work. Let’s explain more about them.

To start with, you have to sort out each and every little detail that you need in orchestrating a baby shower…the WHEN. A huge part of you baby shower theme, menu and games are usually based on the time and date. Figure out first from all the potential guests if they will be able to attend before you validate the WHEN. They would be the female relations of both the groom and the bride. Don’t forget about the mom, unless it’s a surprise party. If yes then perhaps you could ask the father to help you regarding her routine and the date of delivery. It would be wise to organize the baby shower around 2 months before the delivery date. Therefore, you won’t have to lose sleep over unexpected deliveries that could ruin the arrangements.

After you have verified with everybody’s schedule, you can make plans for the date. Try to pick a date where it is not jammed with public holidays. If your opt to celebrate the shower after the baby is born, you could reschedule it until the baby is about two month old. Newborn babies are defenseless to germs and it would be wise to keep them at home until they are two weeks old. Bear in mind that both the mom and baby are adjusting to a new schedule for breastfeeding. When consider baby shower tip also think about baby shower party supplies, baby shower bingo and unique baby shower gifts.

Now that you confirmed the date, you can proceed to the time. Having a baby shower in the afternoon has become a typical routine. Nevertheless, you don’t have to continue with this. Whether you are having a baby shower in the afternoon or in the morning, it is imperative to plan the time correctly. This is where you must refer to a schedule. Since it normally takes 8 to 12 weeks to plan a baby shower, having one will help you stay on the right track.

We can now talk about what you have been looking forward to…the finances. You ought to know how much cash you will require. Will others help out with paying for the whole party or is it all you? Initially, how much are you willing to spend? A baby shower is intended for the mom to get together with her friends and family so they could coddle her. You could be creative and host a baby shower for under $100. Looking for items on sale is one way of cutting back on your costs. Numerous shops have bargains. Numerous would give you free items or won’t charge you for delivery when you purchase some special products. The point is to look for good deals. If you do this, you will discover that you dont have to be overgenerous.

In order to assess your budget, you need to decide on the duration of the party, the prizes as well as the food and drinks. The usual budget for each guest is around $15. It will cost you roughly $180 for an assembly of 12 people. This is regarded as lower class and your budget could rise considerably. On the other hand, you could likewise save a few dollars when you follow the tips mentioned.

There are many different things you can do while scuba diving but regardless of whether you like to ica dive pr simply want to take nice tropical fish pictures a dive knife is a recommended accessory. A lot of dangerous situation can arrive under water such as getting entangled in ghost nets and a dive knife will help you escpae many such dangers. When taking tropical fish pictures you may focus on the task at hand and miss a ghost net or other danger while pursuing a big grouper to get that price winning shot. In such a situation a good dive knife will help you free yourself from the net before things get critical.

When it comes to scuba knives, two things are of imperative importance:

- Choose the right scuba knife; one that suits you and your particular needs.

- Make sure that you know how to use the kind of dive knife you choose to get. If you don’t know how to use your dive knife correctly it can cause more bad than good.

In this blog post we will take a closer look at the first point choosing a dive knife.

What size should the knife be

There are three main sizes of dive knives, big knives, mini knives and standard sized knives. A standard size dive knife, also known as medium size dive knife, has a 4-5 inch or 10-15 cm blade and is small enough to comfortably keep mounted on your leg, arm or BC. Make sure the handle is large enough for you to grip without much ado. Mini Knives are 2-3 inches (5-7.5 cm) and can be mounted on the air tube. They can however be hard to use wearing gloves due to their small size. Always test the handle prior to purchase. Big dive knives have blades that are 5 in / 15 cm or longer and can be a tad cumbersome to handle underwater, especially for precision work. You should only get a big knife if you do something underwater that really requires a big knife, otherwise a small knife is to be preferred.

What material should the knife be made from

Most dive knifes are made from titanium or stainless steel. Titanium knives are the best most durable choice but it is also to most expensive option to buy, they can howeverbe cheaper in the long run as they last a lot longer than steel alternatives. Stainless steel knives are cheaper can be made to last for a long time with proper care like making sure to always rinse them in fresh water after every dive. Coating it with a layer or oil or silicone is also recommended.

Serrated edge or not?

A serrated edge is ideal for cutting natural fibres such as hemp ropes and kelp, while a straight edge will be more apt at cutting artificial materials like nylon ropes and monofilament fishing lines. If you decide to go for a serrated knife, ideally pick one where the serrations run almost the entire length of the blade to make it possible to get a nice sawing motion going when you need to cut something. I recommend that you get a knife witha serrated edge on once said and a straight edge on the other, that way you get the best from both worlds.

Should I choose a knife with a sharp tip?

A blunt tip is better for the avarage joe diver while a sharp tip can better for divers planning to is it while spear fishing. The reason that ablunt top is usually better is that a sharp tip easily breakes when using the knife to dig and pry. A blunt tip is a lot less likely to end up damaging your scuba gear than a sharp tipped one.

Do I need a line cutting notch?

Dive knifes should always have a cutting notch because that makes it much easier to cut small lines.

With all the Christmas parties fast approaching, it is imperative to book up the perfect venue for the office bash.

In my experience, these office bashes can get really out of hand and in my case, very messy.

One very memorable office do, I remember I didn’t even make it to the restaurant. My friend and I had decided to have a few drinks before we ventured out to the restaurant. It was with regret that I actually drank so much I was physically sick and couldn’t even stand up, let alone make my way to the restaurant.

I don’t know why I do it, but it seems such a great idea at the time, and as the drink flows, my inhibitions mellow and low and behold you have an absolute mess.

This year, I am confident that I will not be making a complete fool of myself. It would be great if for once I could remain sober (not very likely).

However, if I should have too much to drink (foregone conclusion) there will hopefully be some decent bar furniture I can prop myself up against at the local pub. I know there won’t be a problem with the restaurant furniture, but you know what these pubs can sometimes be like. They are all modern and futuristic with no seating areas. I actually preferred the cosy snug areas back in the olden days.

I am really praying that when we have finished our meal my work friends will be assisting me out of the restaurant. I will hopefully still be in one piece and able to at least stagger up to the nightclub. Once in the club, I know I will be okay because there is loads of funky club furniture around that I can collapse onto.

I am hoping not to make an idiot of myself and hopefully instead will be dancing the night away.Mind you, if I didn’t make a complete idiot of myself, what would they all talk about in the office next day??

It is so exciting to get an invitation to a baby shower. But in our present economy, you dont want to spend too much for a gift. Just because you don’t have the extra money doesn’t mean you can’t go. The truth is there are several gift suggestions that are inexpensive. And the best part is, they will likewise be just as cherished as high-priced gifts.

1. Buy bigger-sized outfits so it won’t be quickly outgrown. Since there is a possibility that everybody will buy clothes for a newborn, don’t do that. It is better to buy apparel for a 12-month old. Because it’s towards the end of the season, you could buy them on a discounted price. As a result, you had a bargain in buying your present.

2. Maybe you are the type who would rather buy sentimental gifts. A hand-print and a footprint plaster kit as well as a baby photo album are a couple of terrific ideas. You can construct an assortment of picture frames. These are great gift ideas that are within the budget. They could also serve as a souvenir that the parents will surely love.

3. If you have connections with the mother-to-be and if she is having a couple of baby showers then maybe you could attend all of them. Maybe you could likewise take photos in all the affairs and organize them in a scrapbook for her. This can be a low-priced yet wonderful gift suggestion.

4. A good selection of children’s books is better if you love to give educational stuff. It’s best to get board books since babies will always put things in their mouths. As a mater of fact, any children’s book will suffice specifically those that includes rhymes. They could likewise be enlightened with classic story books like Alice in Wonderland for girls and Dumbo for boys. Lots more info can be found on the internet on baby shower games, baby shower invitation wording and baby shower tableware.

5. It’s a marvelous idea to give a tub stuffed with baby items. Try to stay below the $20 range though. Just buy a nice-looking tub and fill it up with baby things. Purchase stuff that would be handy for the mom might have overlooked to register them. Examples such as baby lotion, baby oil, baby wash, baby wipes and diaper rash cream are very practical.

6. One thing a mom would find really helpful is an umbrella stroller. Once the baby begins to sit up, this would be helpful. One would cost you approximately $15.

7. Another educational gift alternative would be little baby toys. Given that learning is limitless, these can be very useful for the parents and the babies. When the time comes, these would actually be beneficial. These are very helpful to have in the diaper bags for babies and moms. You can still have change even if you purchase a couple because they are regularly cheap.

8. It would be rational to give a large box of diapers. This could overwhelm the mom for sure! You may check the internet or read the newspaper to be assured that you find a bargain.

Truly there is a wide selection of inexpensive baby shower gifts to choose from. For that reason, don’t feel that you have to refuse or attend with no gift. With a baby about to be delivered, all kinds of gifts will truly be appreciated.

Corporate entertainment days can really be quite tedious, as anyone who has experienced a few will confirm. It is often the same venue used every time, with the same people, food and activities.Sometimes you get lucky and the events are actually really entertaining and involve doing something a bit different. Sporting events are a pretty safe bet for most corporate hospitality days, but even they have weaknesses. Here are the main pros and cons.

Pros. One of the biggest plus points of sports events is that they are fun and the pressure of entertaining is taken off the host as the guests are focused on the performers. This allows everyone to chill out a little more and get on with the important things, like telling each other how great they are. Further more, as most sports events are of a reasonable length of time, you can dip in and out of the action whilst carrying out important business discussions at the same time.If you try and do the same watching a play or on a high speed powerboat, you will find that it is not so easy.

Cons. It is a sad fact that not everyone likes sport. Some people will be over the moon watching the horse racing at a Cheltenham hospitality event, some people will be indifferent, and some will likely be so bored they either fall asleep or start talking to themselves. Not everyone can be made entirely happy at these events, but its advisable to check if anyone actually follows kangaroo polo before reserving seats for all your guests at an event. Another risk of taking people to sports events is, believe it or not, that they will have too much fun.It is not uncommon for some to become more interested in the sport they are watching than the company they are in, especially if they are big supporters of the teams or individuals involved in the event. Enthusiasm and competiveness are great qualities to unleash on team building days, but they are not so desired when the goals of the corporate entertainment day are networking and maintaining client relations.

I was reminiscing about the good old days with a friend the other day. We got chatting about some of the fantastic old comedy shows that we used to tune into back in the 1970’s

She was telling me that one of her favourite shows used to be Fawlty Towers, which course starred the fantastic John Cleese.

I had to agree that this show was British comedy at its very finest, and certainly caused a great amount of laughter, something that nowadays seems to be sadly lacking.

We got on to talking about the stars of the show and actually had a bit of a row about John Cleese and his real life wife. My friend was adamant that John Cleese was married to Prunella Scales, who played his wife in the show, but I knew he was in fact married to Connie Booth who played Polly the maid.

It’s strange that such a silly conversation can get so out of hand, but you know what it’s like when 2 women think they are right, nobody likes to back down and admit that they are wrong.

In the end we made the joint decision that the only way to find out which one of was right was to carry out a search in Google. Well of course it was me, which didn’t go down too well with my friend.

She said that perhaps I should think about booking a self catering Torquay holiday. I said that I would rather visit some of the hotels in Devon in the hope that one of them might actually have a real life Hotel owner like Basil Fawlty.

Of course nowadays in Torquay there are plenty of activities to keep you occupied. One of my friends who organises bowling holidays for her Club was pretty impressed with Torquay during a recent visit. In fact she loved the place so much that she has already booked up for 2 bowling tournaments next year.

I bet she is secretly hoping to have a hotel owner like Basil Fawlty, at least she would be assured there was never going to be a dull moment!!

Cycling is one of the most popular sports in the world and it is estimated that there is over 4 billion bikes world wide now. The motivations for cycling vary, from just wanting to get a bit of fresh air, to wanting to dramatically enhance your fitness. Generally speaking the type of cycling you do will affect how your muscles will adapt. Cycling for long periods of time, but at reasonably low force, will encourage your muscles to build slow-twitch fibers and improve their endurance levels. Conversely, if you ride at a high intensity over shorter periods, you will develop more fast twitch (powerful) fibres and build muscle size. But which are the muscles that are demanded the most of when riding.

Quadriceps (thighs). When cycling, its is the muscles at the front of the legs that provide the majority of the forces and thus are worked hardest. These muscles work to extend the knee joint and provide a downward force on the pedals, which is then passed onto the crank. Racing bikes in fact are designed to locate the quads directly over the crack so that maximum efficiency is achieved. The quad muscles thankfully adapt quite quickly to exercise, which is lucky as bike riding forces them to work at quite a rapid rate.

Gastrocnemius (calf). The calf muscle is a great deal smaller than the quads, but no less important when it comes to propelling the bike forwards. Flexing the calf muscles when the leg is in a straight position, points the toes towards and adds a small boost to the overall power output. Pinarello make pedals that dynamically pivot to squeeze every last bit of power juice from the calf muscles.

Hamstrings. After the quads have forced the leg down and helped move the bike forwards, the hamstrings work to to pull it back up again and reset the leg ready for another push. This doesnt require much force on a standard bike as the rotation of the pedals pushes the leg up but when you use cycling shoes that clip to the pedals, a large amount of additional force can be generated by these muscles in the upward movement

How not to use a trampoline

Trampolines have quickly become the must have fun and fitness accessories. But as trampolines have become increasingly popular so the number of trampoline related injuries have risen significantly.

The UK based Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) figures tell us that, in 2002, 11,500 people went to hospital after being involved in a trampoline accident. This number was a 50% increase on the previous year and has been increasing ever since. Approximately 75% of injuries took place when there were 2 or more people on the trampoline and the least heavy person is five times more likely to be injured. A particularly worrying statistic for parents is that young children under the age of six are the most likely to be injured.

Injuries vary from minor grazes, bruises, strains and whip lash, to broken bones and more serious injuries including paralysis and even death.

The Chartered Institute of Physiotherapy have published some common-sense safety guidelines that anyone owning a garden trampoline should be familiar with.

To avoid injuries they recommend:

Stretching before and after trampolining

Don’t push your body too far when trampolining to avoid muscle strain

Control your bouncing and don’t go too high

Never attempt somersaults or flips as awkward landings can have serious consequences.

Their twelve point safety advice for trampolines is:

If possible set the trampoline in a hole, with the mat at ground level, to reduce the distance the user could fall.

Always keep trampolines clear of fences, trees and any other backyard or garden play equipment. Erect safety netting around the trampoline perimeter to prevent users from falling off.

Ensure trampoline has a securely fastened frame pad to cover the entire spring system, hooks and frame

Place cushioning material (such as wood chips, sand or soft lawn) under and around the trampoline

Check the wear and tear on the trampoline mat and springs before use

Use the trampoline only when the mat is completely dry

Children should always be supervised by an adult. It is not advised that children under age six use large trampolines

Only one person should use the trampoline at a time

Users should always jump in the middle of the mat

Never exit the trampoline by bouncing off – climb on and off carefully

Users should remove all jewellery, buckles or anything that might catch and should not wear hard shoes; socks should be non-slip

Never sit or crawl under the trampoline

Another aspect that must be considered is the quality of the trampoline. The current trampolining popularity means that the market has been flooded with cheap trampolines that may not be as safe as those which have been fully tested and verified.

Always ensure that your chosen trampoline meets relevant safety regulations and that it’s a safe size for your yard or garden. If you’re still worried about trampoline safety, then purchase a bike instead. The Trek Madone is one of the safest bikes money can buy, and it doesn’t have any harmful springs either. You can even buy safety bike accessories to that added reassurance.

People who perform extreme sports are not your normal sports participants. They are masters of innovation and if something can be done differently, chances are someone will attempt it. In extreme sports terms, snowboarding and surfing are two sports that are very well established, but perhaps a little old hat for some people now. Is it any wonder then that some bright spark decided to see what would happen if they took the fin off their shortboard and tried carving down a snowy mountain on it?

The sport of snow surfing is thought to have first been conceived in New Zealand when a visiting Australian surfer decided to see if he could ride his board on the white stuff. The sport was born, and others were quick to give it a go and allow this mad activity to keep on growing. Coordination and confidence are the two vital ingredients to succeeding in the sport say participants. Unlike snowboards, riders do not have any bindings to attach themselves to the board, but instead rely on aggressive carving and the use of the hands to ensure that the board stays under their feet. The issue of slowing the board down and stopping had caused some problems as well, but flat run-off areas where people can glide to a stop can be found in many resorts now.

As with all emerging extreme sports, sponsors and industry brands have been paying close attention to see if it is worth their while getting involved. Apparently both Rip Curl and Burton have shown interest in the sport and have been following the most promising individuals. Due to the sport’s relative infancy though, it may be some time before we see it publicised in the mainstream media or any specialised equipment appear on the shelves of your local sports store. On the other hand, because the new sport has been embraced so well by both surf and snowboarding communities it could make it big faster than a lot of fledgling sports.

To an ignorant Englishman it could be one of those long an unpronouncable words that have little or no meaning. For the initiated – the Welsh themselves – the word ‘Eisteddfod’ is synonimous with the identity of the nation. The word is ‘Eisteddfod’ is derived from the Welsh word ‘Eistedd’, which means ‘to sit’- setting the scene perfectly for a festival of this nature.

The National Eisteddfod of Wales is a major international festival, allowing visitors be part of a large gathering celebrating the country’s rich culture. The festival has a long history dating back to the 12th century, and qualifies as being on of the best things to do whilst visiting Wales. It is very important for Wales as a nation, because of its promotion of the language and the arts.

I wanted to know first hand what all the noise was about, so I decided that I would start looking for shortbreaks in Wales, to gain first-hand experience. As the festival lasts for the first week in August, you can plan your accommodation in advance. There are many opportunities to attend the festival whilst renting one of the many delightful holiday cottages in Wales. You could time it perfectly to coincide with some of the shortbreaks on offer from ‘Wales in Style’ and their selection of shortbreaks in wales.

I had been informed that the festival had been the starting point for a number of famous artists on their way to the top. Maybe the most famous past winner of the festival prize is Bryn Terfel the international baritone.

What impressed me about the festival, was the huge variety of performers on offer alongside the ceremonies, competitions and concerts. It isn’t just about classical or traditional types of singing, but encompasses lots of different styles like hip-hop, folk and rock music. I was also surprised and inspired to know that the whole show depends on many volunteers. If you want to offer your services to help in whatever way you can, then ring this number: (0845) 122 2033.
