When Grand Master Sams was serving our country in South East Asia, Vietnam, he committed himself to teaching people “True” Martial Arts. He wants people to be safe and to protect others. This commitment lead to the evolution of SaJiDo. Master Sams has a very clear understanding of what works and what does not work in real life combat situations. Like Bruce Lee, Master Sams teaches that Fighting Arts should be eclectic and effective in any situation.
Master Sams has homogenized techniques from over 20 different styles from around the globe. Our students learn effective combat techniques for all situations. We teach techniques for all “ranges of combat”. Students are able to fight at long distance – kicking ranges, intermediate boxing and trapping ranges. At closer ranges they are proficient at using knees and elbows. From there they can easily move to grappling techniques. SaJiDo practitioners move fluidly and efficiently using the attackers force to their advantage. They learn to be successful in single combat situations and against multiple attackers.
